Five Spitfires Set to Star at Army Flying Museum's Wallop Wheels and Wings Event
Saturday 11th July promises to be a memorable day at the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop as five Spitfires are set to appear at the Museum's annual fundraising event, Wallop Wheels and Wings.
The spectacular line-up will be the largest gathering of Spitfires seen at the historic airfield in more than 25 years and will commemorate the important role Spitfires based at Middle Wallop played during the Second World War.
Visitors will be treated to a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire, alongside a stunning display from the Rolls-Royce Heritage Flight Spitfire PR Mk.XIX.

Adding to the celebrations, two Spitfires will fly into the event, including the historic Spitfire Mk.912, regarded as one of the most significant Spitfires still flying today. Visitors will also have the opportunity to get up close to Spitfire Mk.IX LZ842, which will be on display within the main showground after more than 15 years of dedicated engineering work by Mark Bennett.
With 2026 marking the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire's first flight, the event provides a fitting tribute to one of Britain's most iconic aircraft while supporting the Army Flying Museum's biggest annual fundraiser.
This year's event is particularly important for the Museum following an unexpected three-week closure in February caused by a power outage.
Alongside the aviation displays, the Wheels element of the event returns with more than 400 classic and supercars on display.
Motorcycle enthusiasts can also look forward to viewing over 100 bikes, including a special display from sponsors Andover Norton International. New for this year will be a collection of vintage vehicles from the AA Heritage Fleet.
Wallop Wheels and Wings offers a full day of entertainment for all ages, with plenty of activities included in the ticket price. Children can enjoy laser tag, circus skills, craft activities, little racers and a pit stop challenge, while the Discovery Den provides an interactive space for young visitors interested in science, technology and engineering.
Visitors can also explore Living History displays, browse the Shopping Village, enjoy talks in the Speaker's Tent and watch a variety of flying displays throughout the day.

Every ticket purchased in advance includes a free annual Museum pass, valid from 12th July, giving visitors unlimited entry to the Museum along with all school holiday activities included during the validity period.
Ticket prices increase from Thursday 9th July, so visitors are encouraged to book early to take advantage of the discounted advance prices.
