New cast announced and booking extension for back to the future the musical at the Adelphi theatre in London's west end
Lead producer Colin Ingram, together with Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the creators of the Back To The Future film trilogy, are delighted to announce the new cast joining BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical. The musical will also extend through to Sunday 27 July 2025 at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End. Tickets are on sale now.
The critically acclaimed musical, which has won Olivier, WhatsOnStage, and Broadway World Awards for Best New Musical, is entering its fourth year. It premiered in London on 13 September 2021 and began performances on Broadway on 30 June 2023, with its official opening on 3 August 2023.
The North American tour kicked off in Cleveland, OH, in June 2024 and is set to run through August 2025, visiting cities across the US and Canada. The musical is also set to launch internationally, starting with a production in Japan in 2025.
Joining the cast are Vasco Emauz as ‘Marty McFly’ in his West End debut, Orlando Gibbs as ‘George McFly’, C.J. Borger as ‘Goldie Wilson’ and ‘Marvin Berry’, Alex Runicles as ‘Biff Tannen’, Talia Palamathanan as ‘Jennifer Parker’, Ellis Kirk as alternate ‘Marty McFly’, and Liam McHugh as ‘Dave McFly’. New ensemble members include Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Billie Bowman, and Gracie Caine.
Returning cast members include Cory English as ‘Doctor Emmett Brown’, Sarah Goggin as ‘Lorraine Baines’, Lee Ormsby as ‘Strickland’ and alternate ‘Doctor Emmett Brown’, and Patricia Wilkins as ‘Linda McFly’. The ensemble is rounded out by Ella Beaumont, Sia Dauda, Alexander Day, Helen Gulston, Matthew Ives, Connor Lewis, Adam Margilewski, Bryan Mottram, Anna Murray, Samuel Nicholas, Louis Quinn, Zachkiel Smith, Grace Swaby-Moore, and Alexandra Wright.
The Original Cast Recording, available on Sony Music’s Masterworks Broadway label, has surpassed 20 million streams. Featuring new music by Grammy Award-winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, it includes classic songs from the movie like "The Power of Love" and "Johnny B. Goode". Sony Masterworks Broadway recently released a Deluxe Edition of the recording, featuring 13 never-before-heard demos and alternate versions of major numbers, performed by Glen Ballard.
In July 2023, a behind-the-scenes book titled Creating Back to the Future The Musical by Michael Klastorin was released worldwide by abrams&chronicle books.
BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical has captivated over 1.5 million people in London and Manchester, breaking box office records at the Adelphi Theatre.
Based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film, BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical features a book by Bob Gale, new music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film. The story follows Marty McFly, a teenager who is transported back to 1955 and must ensure his parents fall in love to save his own existence.
The musical is directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando and features a multi-award-winning design team, including Tim Hatley (set and costume design), Tim Lutkin (lighting), Hugh Vanstone (lighting consultant), Gareth Owen (sound), and Finn Ross (video).
Choreography is by Chris Bailey, with musical supervision and arrangements by Nick Finlow, and illusions by Chris Fisher. Orchestrations are by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, with dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is by David Grindrod CDG for Grindrod Burton Casting.
