A festive treasure hunt in Jubilee Market right at the heart of Covent Garden

Few places capture the atmosphere of Christmas in London quite like Covent Garden. With its famous giant Christmas tree, sparkling decorations and lively piazza, it becomes one of the capital's most magical destinations during the festive season. At its heart sits Jubilee Market, where groups can enjoy a shopping experience that's every bit as memorable as the surroundings.

Open seven days a week, Jubilee Market offers something different almost every day, making repeat visits just as rewarding as a first. Mondays are a delight for collectors, with stalls filled with antiques and collectables where visitors might uncover a boxed Dinky toy, vintage Meccano set or rare diecast model. Alongside these treasures are antique jewellery, cameras, ceramics, puppets and fascinating film, theatre and television memorabilia, creating an irresistible browse for anyone who enjoys discovering something unusual.

From Tuesday through to Friday, the market takes on a different character. More than 70 independent traders showcase an eclectic mix of gifts and handcrafted products, from traditional sweets at Toffeenose and classic toys to handmade jewellery, artisan soaps, candles, original artwork, quirky pin badges and distinctive souvenirs. Fashion stalls offering London-themed clothing sit alongside tempting street food vendors, making it an ideal stop for groups wanting to combine shopping with lunch in one of London's most iconic locations.

At weekends the market becomes even more vibrant as over 100 artisan makers arrive with beautifully handcrafted creations. Visitors can browse everything from homeware and jewellery to bespoke hand-painted trainers and imaginative artwork inspired by Marvel Studios. Meanwhile, the onsite cafés and food outlets provide the perfect opportunity to relax over traditional refreshments or enjoy freshly prepared pizzas and pasta before continuing the day's exploration.

Christmas brings even more festive charm. From 11 December, Father Christmas makes special weekend appearances, offering groups the chance to enjoy a memorable selfie as part of Jubilee Market's guided walking tours. Combined with the spectacular Christmas lights, festive atmosphere and one of London's most photographed Christmas trees, it creates a memorable seasonal day out.

With nearby coach parking, a safe and welcoming environment and an ever-changing selection of independent traders, Jubilee Market is much more than a shopping destination. It is a festive London experience where groups can browse, discover, dine and soak up the unmistakable magic of Christmas in Covent Garden.
