Keith and Dufftown Railway
Step back in time on the
Keith and Dufftown Railway, for a
gentle journey in our 1950s,
British Railways styled Diesel
Multiple Units.
Enjoy the nostalgia of slide windows,
slam doors, and plush bench seating.
These historic first-generation diesel
were the bridge from steam to
today's modern trains.
Our railway, Britain's most northern
heritage line, travels through the heart of Whisky Country.
The eleven-mile, scenic route captures the essence of Scotland, passing hills, woods, a hidden Loch and rolling fields of barley.
Along the journey, there's a chance to see some of our iconic wildlife; deer, buzzards, red squirrels, little grebe and osprey.
Our railway is run entirely by volunteers, providing a unique, friendly atmosphere for your visit.
Lunch can be provided in our vintage carriage at Dufftown Station.
We run charters and group bookings from April to September.
