Knights on horseback and birds of prey to descend upon

Following the hugely popular first event earlier this year, Stonor Park’s spectacular jousting and falconry weekend is returning this September.
The Knights of Royal England will once again bring medieval entertainment to Stonor Park, situated on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border, on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September.
Visitors can prepare for an exhilarating display of power, skill and horsemanship as brave knights gallop into the arena, lances at the ready, battling their opponents on horseback.
Louisa Fifield, general manager at Stonor Park said: “Our medieval jousting event is a time-travelling journey for visitors of all ages and ignites imaginations with scenes from the past.
“Get ready for explosions of colour as knights thunder past and the dramatic sounds of galloping hooves and clashes of lances and swords. The whole spectacle is exhilarating, fun and interactive, and provides an action-packed and entertaining day out for all the family.”
Throughout the day, impressive falconry displays will take place across the parkland, with majestic birds swooping through the skies as visitors learn about the history of falconry through the ages.
Visitors can also get involved in traditional activities inspired by the Middle Ages, including archery and axe-throwing.
Entry to Stonor Park’s woodland adventure playground, Tumblestone Hollow, is included in the ticket price. Suitable for all ages, it features a dedicated toddler section with water play, alongside spiralling slides, secret tunnels, an adrenaline-fuelled zip wire, climbing walls and ropes, wooden bridges and whimsical turrets.
Tickets also include access to Stonor’s historic gardens, where visitors can enjoy the beautiful planting and grounds as autumn begins to arrive.
Stonor House, the unique family home, will also be open during the afternoon throughout the weekend, giving visitors the opportunity to discover its fascinating history and stories from the past.
A range of refreshments will be available throughout the event, with street food vendors serving everything from barbecues and pizzas to burgers. There will also be a pop-up bar and gelato ice cream available from the playground.

“With families also back in the school routine after the summer holidays, this event will be an amazing day out to look forward to.”
Early bird tickets are available for a limited time, with family tickets priced at £35 for three people, £45 for four and £55 for five. Early bird adult tickets are also available from £11.60.
Child tickets are £13.45 for children aged 3-4 years and £15.50 for children aged five and over. Children aged two and under go free.
Parking is free, with an additional charge for archery and axe-throwing activities.
