The first big Charity Fundraising event of the year is heading for The Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare when the land surrounding Weston Airfield's restored WW2 era Control Tower and Pilots Block is taken back in time to the 1940’s with re-enactors, living history camps and historic military vehicles from around the country exhibiting there on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April.

“This year will be better than ever with tank demonstrations, live firing displays, a Veterans Parade, a 1940’s singer and, weather permitting, flying visitors from the Gazelle Squadron.” said Event Organiser, Jess Porter.

“This weekend long event will bring wartime history to life with displays centring on the home guard, British versus German armaments, wartime field kitchens and WW2 military vehicles. It is a great opportunity to learn and engage with the past on a whole new level.”

Jess added. “As well as providing an engaging and educational event, the Military History Weekend allows us to work with other local charities, helping raise much needed awareness and support for their causes.”

The Helicopter Museum (Registered Charity no 281053) is home to the largest collection of helicopters in the World. The Military History Weekend is the charity's main fund-raising event of the year.
