National Memorial Arboretum celebrates 25 years with packed programme for groups
The National Memorial Arboretum is inviting group visitors to be part of its 25th anniversary celebrations this autumn and winter, with commemorative events, seasonal experiences and new group packages all helping to make 2026 a landmark year.
Since opening its gates 25 years ago, the Staffordshire attraction has become one of the UK's most important places of remembrance. Founded by Commander David Childs CBE, the Arboretum now features more than 20,000 trees and hundreds of memorials dedicated to the Armed Forces, Emergency Services and civilian organisations.
November is one of the most popular times for groups to visit as the landscape takes on its autumn colours, providing a fitting backdrop to the Arboretum's programme of remembrance events.
On Remembrance Sunday (8 November), groups can arrive from 9am to join visitors attending the annual Service of Remembrance at the Armed Forces Memorial. A limited number of places are still available on the Arboretum's exclusive group package, which includes viewing the live broadcast from the comfort of the Aspects events building, followed by a home-cooked two-course lunch with tea and coffee.
The commemorations continue on Armistice Day (11 November). While attendance at the private service on the Armed Forces Memorial is by ballot, coach groups are welcome to watch proceedings on large screens in Heroes' Square from 10.30am.
Later in the year, Illuminated returns from 4-22 December, transforming the Arboretum with a spectacular light and sound trail celebrating memorable stories from its first 25 years.
New for 2026 is an exclusive Illuminated Group Package. Available on selected dates for groups of 10 or more, it combines entry to the evening trail with a festive two-course lunch, alongside discounted admission for group visitors.
With commemorative events, seasonal attractions and dedicated group offers, the National Memorial Arboretum is giving organisers plenty of reasons to include a visit in their autumn and winter programmes.
