North Yorkshire Moors Railway guarantees a value-packed visit for groups
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is preparing for an exciting season of nostalgia, discovery, and group fun, with bookings and special incentives now available for 2025/26.
Groups of 20 or more can enjoy a memorable journey aboard the NYMR’s fleet of heritage steam and diesel locomotives, travelling through 24 miles of spectacular Yorkshire scenery. Whether it’s a short trip or a full day’s adventure, the railway offers flexible options designed for all ages and interests.
Highlights along the line include:

Pickering Station, a 1930s-themed station that transports visitors back to the golden age of steam.

Levisham Station, set in the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Goathland Station, best known as Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film and as the backdrop to TV favourite Heartbeat.

Grosmont Station, the hub of NYMR’s operations and engineering works.

Whitby, where groups can explore winding streets, a busy harbour, and the dramatic ruins of Whitby Abbey.


Group fares for 2025/26 include single and return tickets with flexible 1-Stop, 2-Stop, 3-Stop, and All Line options. An All Line adult return is £40, while an All Line child return is £20.

Catering packages can also be pre-booked, such as tea, coffee & traybake for £5.75 per person, or tea, coffee & two biscuits for £5.25 per person.
The NYMR is committed to accessibility, offering online Access Guides and assistance from trained staff. Groups are encouraged to advise in advance of any mobility needs, including wheelchair space requirements.
To confirm a booking, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required, with final numbers and payment due 14 days before travel. One free ticket is provided for the group leader.
