Special ticket at Raby’s Harvest Food
and Gift Market
Raby Castle, Park and Gardens’ popular Harvest Food and Gift Market returns over the August Bank Holiday weekend, offering visitors a chance to enjoy the final days of summer with food, shopping and entertainment.
Taking place in the Riding School and Dutch Barn from Saturday 29th August to Monday 31st August, between 10am and 4pm, the market will feature live music, local produce, delicious food and a range of unique gifts for all the family.
With Christmas on the horizon and thoughts turning towards cosy homes and festive shopping, visitors can browse stalls packed with seasonal produce, delicious treats and handmade products. There will be handcrafted jewellery, distinctive homewares and plenty of gift inspiration, while Raby’s Coach House shop will also be open with spa and skincare products, children’s toys and the new TUTTI clothing concept store.
Food will be a big part of the weekend, with Raby’s Estate Chef serving up a barbecue and a pop-up tipi offering stone-baked pizzas. The Vinery Café will also be open throughout the weekend, serving homemade dishes and treats inspired by, or sourced from, the Raby Estate.
For something sweet or refreshing, The Garage Cafe, opposite Raby’s shop, is the perfect place to stop for an afternoon ice cream or iced coffee. Visitors can then browse Raby’s outdoor living retail space in the Coach Yard, including its collection of pots and plants.
Sophie Brown, sales and events manager at Raby Castle, Park and Gardens said: "Our harvest market is a wonderful way to mark the end of summer, celebrate the bounty of harvest and a chance to get outside and make the most of the bank holiday too.
"We've updated the name of our market to feature food and gift as the options available this year are greater than ever before, with more street food vendors and stalls to browse, making it a jam-packed event for friends, families and couples to explore."
Raby has also introduced a special £20 Bank Holiday weekend adult ticket, which includes entry to the market, Raby Castle, Deer Park and Walled Gardens.
The weekend also marks the final opportunity to experience Castle in Bloom, Raby’s stunning floral installation which has transformed rooms throughout the Castle and other buildings across the grounds with breathtaking arrangements inspired by the beauty of nature.
Outside, visitors can explore the Walled Gardens and Deer Park, while younger visitors can burn off some energy at The Plotters’ Forest woodland adventure playground.
Following the recent opening of The Hidden Forest, which has doubled the size of the Plotters’ Forest play area, families can discover new challenges along the extended pathway, including a stilt walk, balance beam, parallel bars, cascading wall and double swing.
Market-only tickets cost £2 for adults when booked online in advance, or £5 on the day. Children under 15 go free to the market.
For those wanting to make the most of everything Raby has to offer, an access-all-areas ticket includes entry to the market, Castle in Bloom, the Walled Gardens, Deer Park and the new Hidden Forest play area in The Plotters’ Forest.
A special Bank Holiday weekend family explorer ticket costs £55 for two adults and two children when booked online in advance. This weekend is also the last chance to take advantage of Raby’s Summer VAT saving, offering 15% off family tickets as part of the government’s Great British Summer Savings scheme.
