    Built around 1130, The Manor in Hemingford Grey is one of the oldest
    continuously inhabited houses in Britain. It became famous as
    <em>Green Knowe</em> in Lucy Boston’s much-loved children’s books and
    today visitors can experience both the historic house and the garden that
    inspired the stories.

    Inside the house you can see Lucy Boston’s patchwork collection, which has
    been shortlisted for the 2024 Historic Houses Award. The quilts, textiles
