Gallop back in time with Medieval Jousting and Falconry at Tumblestone Hollow

An exhilarating clash of power and endurance is set to take centre stage as the Knights of Royal England descend on Stonor Park and Tumblestone Hollow over the first May Bank Holiday weekend, from 2 to 4 May.

Promising a thrilling step back in time, the popular jousting tournament will once again transform the historic estate into a vibrant medieval arena, immersing visitors of all ages in the sights and sounds of the Middle Ages.

Spectators can witness the drama of live jousting as armoured knights charge across the arena, lances at the ready, showcasing skill, bravery and horsemanship in a bid to unseat their opponents.

Alongside the main event, visitors can enjoy a host of interactive medieval experiences. Falconry displays will see birds of prey soaring overhead, while hands-on activities including archery and axe-throwing offer an action-packed day out for families and groups alike.

For younger visitors, Tumblestone Hollow provides an additional highlight. The adventure playground features spiralling slides, secret tunnels, climbing walls, rope bridges and a zip wire, as well as a dedicated toddler zone with water play - all designed to encourage imaginative outdoor play.

Tickets also include access to Stonor’s beautifully landscaped gardens, which come into full bloom during spring, while Stonor House will be open each afternoon, offering a well-rounded day out for all generations.

Louisa Fifield, general manager at Stonor Park, said:
“Medieval jousting is one of our most popular weekends here at Stonor and marks the beginning of our vibrant events season.

“For families looking to ditch the screens and enjoy a value-for-money day out together creating memories in the great outdoors, or for locals, friends and groups who are searching for an exhilarating and unique experience in an uplifting setting with good food, our jousting weekend will certainly tick those boxes.

“We’d also like to encourage children to dress up in their finest medieval costumes and they will be invited into the arena at the end of each jousting tournament to receive a prize.”

A wide selection of food and drink will be available throughout the weekend, including a traditional hog roast, wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers and fries, as well as a pop-up beer tent for those wanting to embrace the medieval spirit.

Running from Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May, tickets for the event are priced at £14.50 for adults, £15.50 for children aged five and over, and £13.45 for children aged three to four. Family tickets are also available, priced at £40 for a family of three and £50 for a family of four.

Free parking is available at Tumblestone Hollow. Additional charges apply for archery and axe-throwing activities.
