Discover the Beauty and Heritage of Waterperry Gardens

Waterperry Gardens

Just seven miles from the heart of Oxford, Waterperry Gardens offers 20 acres of breathtaking ornamental gardens, steeped in history and bursting with colour throughout the seasons. Founded in 1932 by visionary horticulturist Beatrix Havergal as a School of Horticulture for Ladies, Waterperry remains a truly unique destination blending horticultural excellence with cultural charm.

Stroll through the spectacular gardens and experience highlights such as the famous 200 foot herbaceous border, the elegant rose garden, formal knot garden, and the peaceful riverside walk. Every corner reveals a new vista, perfect for garden enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.

But there’s more than just gardens to explore - visitors can browse a quality Plant Centre, Garden Shop, Gift Barn, and the beautifully curated Gallery, offering everything from plants to artisan gifts. And no visit is complete without a stop at The Teashop, serving freshly prepared lunches, cakes, patisserie, and indulgent afternoon teas, all made onsite daily.

Group visits are warmly welcomed. Parties of 20 or more can enjoy special group rates - simply call 01844 339254 to book.

There’s free coach parking and meal vouchers for drivers, making Waterperry a perfect day out for tour operators and travel groups.

With a vibrant year-round events calendar including garden weekends, open-air theatre, classical concerts, opera in the Amphitheatre

and art exhibitions, there’s always something to inspire and delight.
